Clever women heaviest drinkers
Have that third glass, it seems. A conclusion drawn for a reason I am yet to fathom has found that women who went to university consume more alcohol than those who did not, reports The Telegraph. It comes from a study of 39 men and women born in Britain in the same week in 1970.
They are more likely to drink every day and also more likely to admit to a drinking problem. The study also found that girls with higher IQs as schoolgirls were OVER twice as likely to drink daily.
Possible reasons for this included: starting families later in life, more active social lives and… being middle class, which apparently means that you are more likely to see your parents drink regularly.
Earlier this year, the LSE authors published a report on social mobility drawn from the same case studies.
