Indian police officer raped a woman who sought help from him
On 30 April , the inspector-in-charge of a police station in Orissa, India raped a woman who wanted to lodge a dowry-related complaint against her husband and in-laws, according to a report today in India Vision.
Narayan Chandra Nayak invited the woman to his official residence, where he then raped her. He was arrested and produced before a court three days later. Hundreds of people protested outside the police station yesterday, demanding that the incident be looked into at a high level.
