London women MPs
Again, the following names of women MPs have been culled from the BBC website so I may have left a couple of people off. Also, a couple of constituencies still haven't announced the results of their vote. In terms of our interest, this includes Hackney North and Stoke Newington (where Diane Abbot is standing again), Brent Central (where Dawn Butler is standing again) and Bethnal Green and Bow (where Labour's Rusharana Ali is standing).
Stella Creasy, Walthamstow, Labour
Angela Watkinson, Hornchurch and Upminster, Conservative
Teresa Pearce, Erith and Thamesmead, Labour
Harriet Harman, Camberwell and Peckham, Labour
Joan Ruddock, Lewisham Deptford, Labour
Lynne Featherstone, Hornsey and Wood Green, Lib Dem
Emily Thornberry, Islington South and Finsbury, Labour
Kate Hoey, Vauxhall, Labour
Angela Bray, Ealing Central and South Acton, Conservative
Glenda Jackson, Hampstead and Kilburn, Labour
Mary MacLeod, Brentford and Isleworth, Conservative
Siobhain McDonagh, Mitcham and Morden, Labour
Heidi Alexander, Lewisham East, Labour
Tessa Jowell, Dulwich and West Norwood, Labour
Justin Greening, Putney, Conservative
Jane Ellison, Battersea, Conservative

Just found this via the F- word, been looking for something like this all morning!
How is this faring against pre election numbers? Im really hoping this signifies a rise in womens representation in parliament.
Hi, Hannah. Thanks. Im afraid I cant tell you how these figures compare with pre election numbers as Im just taking the results from the BBC website. I agree its very frustrating that no one ever does this kind of comparison. I know the Centre for Women and Democracy and/or Fawcett Society will do something at some point but I dont know when. Sorry not to be more helpful.
