Sex and the City? More like Stepford Wives…
If you'll permit me one more entertainment based post… Tanya Gold has an interesting article in the Telegraph today about Sex and the City and it's feminist credentials (or lack thereof).
Now I have to admit that Sex and the City is a bit of a guilty pleasure for me, and I do think it was genuinely ground breaking at times in showing women talking openly about sex and their enjoyment of it.
However, Ms Gold provides some pretty compelling arguments as to why none of us should be entirely seduced by the idea that the protagonists of Sex and the City are the strong, empowered women we like to imagine.
