Woman loses sex discrimination claim
The Guardian has a report of yet another sex discrimination case in the financial services sector in the City but this time, the woman was unsucccessful. Jordan Wimmer, 29, claimed that her former boss had brought a prostitute to a meeting and that he had sexually harassed her by sending her a string of sexist jokes which included comparing women to dogs.
However, the tribunal did not find Ms Wimmer a "persuasive" witness and dismissed her claims of sex discrimination, disability discrimination, unfair constructive dismissal and an unauthorised deduction from her wages which came to a whopping £4m.
