Is breastfeeding “creepy”?
Well, is it? It certainly is for the deputy editor of Mother & Baby magazine who has just written an article entitled (rather defensively, I thought) "I formula fed. So what?"
Kathryn Blundell says that she bottlefed from birth because she wanted her body back. She also wanted to be able to drink alcohol again and give her "boobs a chance to stay on my chest rather than dangling around my stomach".
She points out that they're also part of her sexuality and that she would find it "creepy" to have a baby latching on where only a lover has been before.
I have to say that I have some sympathy with her. Breastfeeding obviously isn't for everyone and although it is "best for baby" it's not always best for mum and she surely must have some say in this?
My line would be – yes, try to do it if possible, but if not, don't beat yourself up about it. And certainly, if you're the deputy editor of a mother and baby magazine, don't feel so defensive about it.

hahaha You are joking right?
Of course it’s alright to make your own decision. But there are so many well known reasons why breastfeeding is good.
And it doesn’t give you saggy boobs. And it doesn’t mean you can’t have ‘your life’ back. And it certainly isn’t ‘creepy’
Deputy editor of Mother & Baby – What a jerk.
