Police puzzle over 10-year disappearance of British woman in Pakistan
As reported in WVON yesterday, a British woman – Naheeda Bi – has returned to her home in Glasgow after being held captive in Pakistan for ten years.
However, according to the Guardian, the Foreign Office and British police are puzzled by her claims that she was abducted while visiting relatives.
No ransom demand was ever made and although her family told the authorities in 2000 that she had been abducted, the ministry has no record of any other contact being made until her brother telephoned in 2007, saying that she was still missing.
