Hymen replacement surgery on the rise in the UK

The NHS reports a 25% increase in hymen replacement surgery since 2005. The procedure which allows women to appear virgins on their wedding nights is increasing in popularity due to cultural reasons.

As reported in the  Evening Standard, pilule doctors say the demand is coming from young Muslim women. Although a representative from the NHS was quoted saying that the procedures were only being conducted to "secure physical or psychological health", hymen replacement has also surged in private on demand clinics.
