MAC Rodarte still under pressure to do more than just donate money to women of Juarez

Following protests from a number of fashion bloggers (as well as WVON) about the decision by fashion house Rodarte and MAC cosmetics to collaborate on a rather tasteless new line of cosmetics, the Telegraph has now picked up on the furore.

It says it can hardly believe that the collaborative beauty range should include nail polish by the name of Juarez which has been called "a serial murderer's playground" and is widely regarded as the murder capital of the world. About 400 women have been raped and murdered there in the last ten years.

The two companies subsequently apologised and offered to donate $100,000 to a non-profit organisation that has a track record in helping women in need. Unimpressed by that gesture, London-based blog Healing Beauty set up a petition calling for a much bolder response from MAC and Rodarte.

Let's keep up the pressure on them. You could start by signing the petition.
