Mobile phone picture of sexual harasser resulted in his arrest

Women are increasingly using mobile phones to tackle public abuse and harassment by taking photos of men who carry out gender-based crimes, according to change.org

For instance, one young woman whose had her buttocks pinched while she was waiting for a train in Queens, New York, followed the groper onto the train and took a photo of him with her phone.

The picture was posted to Crime Stoppers and used a few days later to accompany a brief article in the NY Daily News about the incident. The article led to the arrest of 44-year-old Javier Zempalteca last week on charges of third-degree sexual assault.

Excellent outcome. Maybe this will make others think twice before harassing women in crowded public spaces (or anywhere else for that matter).
