Musicians for Equal Opportunities for Women (MEOW) has launched  a daily website – MEOWgazine – featuring interviews, news, event coverage and more.

Founded by the world’s leading advocate for women in music, Carla Desantis Black, MEOWgazine not only promises to be the foremost destination for information and networking but also a way to ensure that women in music have an increasing number of opportunities.

Black became a prominent figure in the music industry as the editor and publisher of ROCKRGRL Magazine  which ran from 1995-2005. MEOWgazine is to pick up where ROCKRGRL left off.

“So many female musicians are still considered a novelty or are diminished by being over-sexualized,” she said.

“The media has a hard time taking women seriously as artists. They would rather focus on who they date and what they wear.

“MEOWgazine will level the playing field and inspire female musicians – especially those who are just starting out.”
