Originally from the UK, I have been a professor of women and gender studies at the University of Guam for the last five years where I work with Pacific Island women both in the classroom and in the community.
I migrated to Guam from the American South where I lived for 15 years and completed my Ph.D. there on Irish women’s literature.
My interests stem from working with women from this region who are considered exotic but struggle with the challenges that most women face such as work-family balance, along with sex tourism and trafficking, colonization by the US, and overseas contract work.
I am so glad to be a part of the WVoN network bringing women to the forefront of the news.
