I am an Australian currently living in Coventry.
I graduated with a BA, majoring in Creative Writing and Arabic Studies, from the University of Melbourne.
My course required an editing placement, and, happily, I undertook mine at Arena, a magazine of left political, cultural and social commentary.
I loved every minute – from writing to proofreading to sifting through submissions – and only stopped volunteering when full-time work tore me away.
Later, I worked in the office of Parliamentary Counsel in Canberra, where I provided administrative and editorial support to drafters preparing legislation for printing and introduction to the Australian Federal Parliament.
I moved to Potsdam, Germany, in 2007, where I spent the next couple of years at home with my small daughter.
In 2009, I arrived in the UK, and now work part-time, inputting advertisements for a jobs website.
I’m delighted to have the chance to contribute to Women’s Views on News: at last, my habit of scouring the internet for interesting news articles, and sharing them with friends can be put to good use!
I love writing, and especially enjoy dabbling in poetry and fiction.
