Kate Townshend, co-editor

I am a freelance journalist, teacher, English Literature graduate and, very definitely, a feminist.

In an effort to keep things eclectic I write about Britain’s prettiest countryside, educational issues and geek culture as well as anything and everything to with women and their participation and status in public life.

You can see me in print in publications like the Times Education Supplement and Britain magazine.

As a teacher, I also get to see directly how the gender roles and expectations passed on by the media affect children’s perceptions of themselves.

I am a guest blogger over at Prowling the Savannah where I wax lyrical about cult tv, games and movies as resident reluctant geek. Sometimes I sneak some feminism in there too.

Being a part of WVoN has been a really exciting opportunity and I can’t wait to see the project develop further.
