Lucy Miller, co-editor

I am an English Literature graduate from Lancaster University, currently attempting to break into the world of journalism.

My interests include art, theatre and film, women’s issues and literature. I also occasionally venture into writing my own fiction and poetry, some of which has been published in creative magazines .

I enjoy travelling, and my trip to rural Namibia in the summer of 2008 triggered my interest in the way women are treated even in the 21st century.

Now I have graduated I hope to delve further into this area, reporting on everything that I can. I will begin with a university exchange to India in September this year.

Before discovering WVoN I spent eight months working as Lancaster Editor for The National Student, an independent online magazine, whilst finishing my degree.

I have also written for various local and regional newspapers, and after Christmas I will move to London to begin a journalism diploma.

It was during my degree that I became interested in feminist issues, and I believe feminism is as important today as it has ever been in the past. I’m very excited to be part of a vital news source like WVoN.
