I recently graduated from Newcastle University with a BA in Spanish, Portuguese and Latin American Studies.
I currently work as a project assistant for a skills council for the creative industries and an international network of sector skills organisations, both in London. I have plans to start an MSC in Gender and Public Policy in Sepember 2012.
I have lived and worked in Mexico, Spain and Brazil and absolutely love all Hispanic and Lusophone culture.
I’ve always fought against injustice, from getting a group of girls together at school at the age of 15 to demonstrate against the Iraq war to helping organize a successful International Development Conference at university.
My real passion lies in gender equality and equity – we can and will achieve it across the globe.
My interests are media representation of women and gender, sexual trafficking, how gender should feature more prominently in social and economic governmental policies, feminist theory and how to get men involved in the feminist movement.
I strongly believe that through the work of WVoN and other similar organisations we can help create a positive platform from where our voices can be heard.
