Meg Kissack

I am currently an undergraduate at Cardiff University studying English Literature. The topics I have chosen to focus on are mainly creative writing, post-colonial fiction and women’s writing.

I have had a couple of articles published on the BBC website through a creative writing group when I was fourteen. Since then, I have continued to write and have been co-editor of my school magazine. I also received a distinction in a public speaking course which I took at college.

In the future, I hope to go into a journalism related field of work, and I am particulary interested in looking at issues of social injustice. I would love to also go into speech writing and my big ambition would be to create a magazine for teenage girls to offer an alternative to the mainstream media.

I would definitely consider myself a feminist and am a member of the Cardiff Feminist Network. We are currently planning for a feminist festival to take place in Cardiff next year.

I am enthusiastic with a passion for life and I put my heart and soul into everything I do and ultimately I want to leave the world having made a difference.
