Calling all activists – 16 days of saying no to violence

An annual campaign called 16 Days of Activism Against Gender Violence, sponsored by the Center for Women’s Global Leadership, aims to raise awareness about the prevention of violence against women across the world.

The campaign runs from the 25th November, International Day Against Violence Against Women, until the 10th December, which is International Human Rights Day and is also intended to be a show of solidarity amongst activists across the world.

16 Days is linked to UNIFEM and to the UN Secretary General’s UNiTE campaign to end violence against women.

If you are organising an event centred on preventing or raising awareness of violence against women, make sure it’s registered at www.saynotoviolence.org – all events, large and small, are welcome.

So, if you’re organising a film night for a few mates or a march for tens of thousands, make sure it’s listed. A large amount of supporting resources are available from the website too.

Find out more about 16 days at their website and at Say No To Violence.
