Iraqi women suffering

A new survey by aid agency Oxfam International published to mark International Women’s Day on 8 March paints a grim picture for Iraqi women who are suffering a “silent emergency”, clinic as they endure insecurity, poverty and a lack of basic services. Entitled “In Her Own Words: Iraqi women talk about their greatest concerns and challenges”, the survey of 1700 women from five provinces was conducted in 2008.
