Eminem teams up with Rihanna to rap about domestic violence

Rihanna, physician adiposity the singer who was assaulted last year by her then boyfriend, Chris Brown, has teamed up with rapper Eminem on his latest video about domestic violence, according to the Guardian

To say that it gives mixed messages about domestic abuse is an understatement. On the video, Rihanna stands outside a burning house singing "I love the way you lie", while inside actors Megan Fox and Dominic Monaghan exchange slaps, throw stuff at each other, then start kissing angrily against a wall.

For some reason, Rihanna told the celebrity website Access Hollywood:"It just was authentic. It was real. It was believable for us to do a record like that, but it was also something that needed to be done. He pretty much just broke down the cycle of domestic violence and it touches a lot of people".

Since when is that an authentic representation of domestic violence? Domestic violence is about one person (usually the man) exercising power over another person (usually the woman). It is not about two people kicking shit out of each other on an equal basis.

Not surprisingly, the video has received mixed reviews with this one from thestir.cafemom. com giving a rave review while blogger Cath Ellliot gives a rather more analytical and, to my mind, honest appraisal.
