Missing al-Jazeerah journalist Dorothy Parvas free, safe and well
Summary of story from the BBC, May 18, 2011
Al-Jazeera’s journalist Dorothy Parvaz is now free, safe and well in Doha, the news agency says.
She was detained in Syria on April 29 (see WVoN story), but has now been ‘has been released and is safe and well in the Gulf state of Qatar’, her employers, who are based in Qatar, say.
Ms Parvaz, 39, who joined al-Jazeera’s English-language TV service last year, was attempting to enter Syria to report on the unrest there when she was detained.
Syria has banned foreign journalists from entering the country during its current crackdown on anti-government protests.
