Female exchange students discover hidden cameras in their room
Summary of story from Mail Online, July 28, 2011
Two female exchange students from Bulgaria were sickened to find cameras, which they had thought were smoke detectors, in their Tampa, Florida apartment.
For three months, every move made by the students could be observed, even in the shower.
Vanya Amokovareva, 22, and Ralitsa Dzhambazova, 23, called police when they discovered the smoke detectors were actually hidden cameras.
Ms Amokovareva told a local TV station: ‘We just came here to spend one summer in the United States, to work here. I am feeling very bad.’
At first glance cameras appeared to be motion detectors for an alarm system or smoke detectors.
Investigators are now looking for the person who planted the cameras. They were not sure if they were recording or being viewed from a remote location.
