Summary of story from BBC News, August 18, 2011

The mother of murdered estate agent Suzy Lamplugh and personal safety campaigner Diana Lamplugh has died.

She set up the Suzy Lamplugh Trust after her 25-year-old daughter disappeared in 1986, after leaving her west London offices to meet a client.

Paul Infield, chairman of the Suzy Lamplugh Trust’s board of trustees, said: “Diana was one of those people who contributed energy, focus and commitment to everything she did.”

Mrs Lamplugh campaigned on issues ranging from making minicabs safer to protecting victims of stalking, and was appointed an OBE in 1992.

  1. The Suzy Lamplugh Trust has been an important force for good in the UK.

I am very sad to hear of the death of Diana Lamplugh. Although I never met or knew her, my research work into workplace bullying led me to understand that the trust is synonymous with putting right some of the things that are very wrong in our society.

I hope the Trust’s work will continue and go from strength to strength. In many ways, we need it more now than ever before.
