Japanese mother searched five months to find daughter’s body
Summary of story from The Telegraph, September 26, 2011
A Japanese mother has searched for five months to find the body of her daughter, who was killed during the tsunami on March 11.
Naomi Hiratsuka completed a course in operating heavy machinery so she could use an excavator to search the rubble at Okawa Elementary School for her 12-year-old daughter, Koharu.
Koharu’s body was found in August, near a fishing port several miles away from the school.
Of the school’s 108 students, 70 were killed, as well as ten teachers.
Mrs Hiratsuka says she will continue to search for the bodies of the four students who are still missing.
