Natasha Jonas, Lisa Whiteside, Savannah Marshall and Nicola Adams have all won places in the European Women’s Boxing Championships in the Netherlands.

Light-welterweight (64kg) Jonas, 27, beat Russia’s Anastasia Bellyakova in an impressive performance.

The two-time EU amateur boxing champion, said: “Russia is always a difficult team. We went there for a camp in February and [Bellyakova] beat me so it shows how far we’ve come.

“I’m not here for anything less than gold. The tournament is not finished, you can relax a little knowing you’ve got a medal but I’m here for gold.”

Jonas, Marshall and Adams are also members of Great Britain Boxing’s Olympic Squad.
