White House announces new female Chief Usher

Newly appointed Angella Reid is the first woman to take the roles of Director of the President’s Executive Residence and “Chief Usher.”
Currently general manager at The Ritz-Carlton, Pentagon City, Arlington, Virginia, Reid has 25 years of hotel management experience and has won multiple leadership awards. She will take up her new post in November.
The position was most recently held by Rear Admiral Stephen W. Rochon, USCG (Ret.), who left the position earlier this year to take a role at the Department of Homeland Security.
As Chief Usher, Reid will be in charge of overseeing all aspects of the operations and activities within the Executive Residence and on the Executive Residence grounds.
