Girl in India set on fire for resisting rape

A 14-year-old girl was set on fire after resisting the attempts of two men to rape her, according to the Indo-Asian News Service.

The girl, whose identity has not been reported, received 70 per cent burns and is battling for life in in a Delhi hospital.

The incident happened last Saturday in Dhakauli village in Uttar Pradesh, India.

Two brothers in their 20s,  Mashooq and Ashraf, found the girl alone at home and tried to rape her, according to the girl’s father who later approached the police.

When she resisted they allegedly set her on fire.
