Zimbabwe to host 2012 CAF women’s football
Summary of story from The Standard, October 30, 2011
Zimbabwe will host its first ever African Women’s Championships in 2012.
The Confederation of African football (CAF) made the offer after the country successfully hosted the regional men and women’s Cosafa Cup and the All Africa Games.
The seven-team tournament is an equivalent of the men’s Orange Africa Cup of Nations.
The Zifa board has also agreed to the request by Egypt to have the women’s team play a friendly match in Egypt on November 27.
